With 2021 drawing to a close it can be a time of reflection of what has or has not happened over the previous 12 months. Even though the events schedule may have been dented the Village Hall trustees have not stopped, plotting and planning improvements that will hopefully have a lasting impact.
You will notice over the coming weeks that the hall will have a slightly different look on the inside and sprouted its own weather system. This is because we have invested after many months, if not years of research by several members into a product called 'Acoustic Clouds' from a company called Woolly Shepherd.
We took a very scientific approach to comments received by various members over a period of time that the sound in the hall could be troublesome. This manifests itself in different ways with different people but the common theme appeared that the spoken voice was hard to understand in a busy and loud hall.
We invested in an acoustic survey so that we could scientifically target the troublesome "frequencies" and apply the right acoustic treatment to improve the quality of the experience. If you would like to see the report please use the Contact Us section at the bottom of the home page.
Not stopping there the hall has also invested in a new sound system. A factor behind this is to make the hall more self sufficient in the events it can hold without outside parties being involved. Installation will be completed in the new year and will allow a greater variety of
Live Music
Small Disco's / Kids Parties
Presentations
Speeches
Film Nights
Link in to the Hearing Loop system
Hopefully these two investments will complement each other for greater enjoyment by all.
